A Slovenian national newspaper NeDelo published an article on 13 December 2025 highlighting the risks of digital exclusion and the importance of maintaining citizens’ right to choose how they receive official communications.
The article discusses the rapid decline of traditional mail, the potential social consequences of digital-only communication, and the advocacy efforts of the Keep Me Posted EU campaign. It stresses that digital transformation must not exclude vulnerable groups such as older people, rural residents, and those with limited digital skills.
The piece also refers to Denmark’s decision to remove postal letterboxes as an example of the broader European trend towards digitalisation, and highlights concerns that charging extra for physical mail could amount to indirect discrimination against digitally excluded citizens.
